Howard Maffucci, Legislative Liaison
Howard Maffucci represents the 10th Legislative District, which includes a majority of the Town of Pittsford and a portion of the Town of Brighton. He is a member of the Environment and Public Works Committee, the Audit Committee, Chair of the Ways and Means Committee, Vice-Chair of the Public Safety Committee, and a member of the Veteran Service Agency Advisory Board, the Greater Rochester Airport Authority, the Elder Council, and the Broadband Task Force.
Howard has been an active part of the community for over 45 years, raising two kids in Pittsford with his wife, Tina, a former elementary school teacher. Deeply involved in the local educational system, Howard was a teacher and a football and hockey coach in Pittsford beginning in 1974, continued his career as an administrator in 1988, and eventually rose to become Superintendent of Schools for the East Rochester School District from 1996 to 2010. He currently serves as a negotiator for the School Administrators Association of New York State.
Beyond his duties as a Monroe County Legislator, Howard continues to be actively involved in the community. He was a member of the Capital Campaign Steering Committee for the new Southeast YMCA, is a member of the Rochester Coalition for Public Education, the University of Rochester George Eastman Circle, and serves as the Treasurer of the Genesee Valley Association for Supervision and Curriculum Development. He is the Past President of the Pittsford Rotary.
Howard lives in Pittsford, where he and his wife, Tina, have lived since 1978. Their children, Amy and Steven, are raising their families, giving Howard and Tina endless joy with their three grandkids.
